Saturday 12 September 5 miles
Jane,Tracey, Donna + Hilary
Lovely weather, blue sky, a few white clouds, a cool breeze in places
We parked in Tarvin.
The bridges don't seem very big to us now so it is hard to believe that this was once a major trading route through Cheshire.
Difficult to find our way across the fields - we found a pretend bridge across a ditch
Wet Grass
At Stamford Mill we stopped and looked at the mill race. The man who lived in the house told us we couldn't get out onto the road due to the roadworks, so we crossed the fields to come out onto the A51 no too far from where we needed to be. We crossed the road with the help of a police car!
As it was lunch time we ended up sitting on the side of the road in the sunshine.
We went and had a look at Wildshore and watched the wave boarding. The water looked a bit choppy with the cool breeze blowing across it.
Then we went to the Hollies for coffee/tea and Portuguese custard tarts (x3). We were able to sit at a sheltered table in the sunshine, getting our quota of vitamin D.
